Two Fingers amulets were sometimes placed within the wrappings of mummified individuals during the Late Period to symbolically close the wound in the lower left abdomen near the incision that had been made to remove the internal organs. This amulet represents the index and middle fingers of a right hand, shown at nearly lifesize, and was believed to render the individual intact for the afterlife.
