Curatorial Notes

This bronze lampstand was cast as three main component parts: a base, a shaft, and a tray, the latter of which was designed to hold a separate oil lamp. The individual pieces are fitted together by flanges and sockets that lock in place when turned, allowing for the lampstand to be easily assembled for use or disassembled for transport and storage.
