Embroidered textile sampler with dense cross-stitch text in black thread on cream linen, bordered by a delicate floral vine pattern in red and green. Text reads 'The Substance of a Petition' with the name 'Alma Ali Cawn' prominently stitched in large letters, followed by several paragraphs of smaller script. Signed 'Hannah Powell 1813' at lower right.
