Curatorial Notes
Guatemala was a main producer of silverware during the early modern era (c. 1500–1800). A stamp on this simple, yet elegant plate depicts Saint James on horseback soaring above two peaks, an image associated with Santiago de los Caballeros de Guatemala, the Spanish colonial capital of Guatemala.
