Woman's Dress (Robe à la française and Petticoat)1760-1765

Eighteenth-century court gown in ivory silk with wide pannier skirt, gold metallic passementerie trim in sweeping curves, and small embroidered floral sprigs
18th-century silk robe à la française, rear view, displayed without a figure. Ivory ground woven with scattered floral sprigs in pink, red, yellow, and green. Fitted bodice with center-back closure, full skirt with box pleats at the back. Elbow-length sleeves trimmed with layered gold lace engageantes and matching gold lace at the neckline.
