Walter Leistikow
Pan 5, no. 3 (1899)-4 (1900)1899-1900

Not on view
Mezzotint or similar print, two figures in near-total darkness — an adult holding a young child in a long gown — lit dramatically from below left
Black and white print of a landscape dominated by a large billowing cumulus cloud formation against a pale sky, with a dark treeline silhouette and gently rolling fields in the lower third, rendered with fine tonal hatching.
Charcoal or graphite drawing of rural laborers in a winter landscape; a central figure in long skirts carries a large bundle of sticks, while other figures bend and work in the background near bare trees and a draft animal, with soft, smudged tonal shading throughout.
Etching or lithograph landscape in deep blacks and grays, with two large stylized trees dominating the foreground, their rounded canopies rendered in concentric curved lines. A small white building sits on a distant hill at center, framed between the dark trees under a lightly textured sky.
Engraving or drypoint portrait of a man in three-quarter profile, with dark wavy hair and a large mustache, rendered in fine hatched lines against a lightly textured gray background.
Black and white woodcut or engraving, winter landscape with a stone archway flanked by columns, surrounded by snow-laden trees and shrubs rendered in dense, swirling linework.
