Japanese lacquer inrō, four-tier cylindrical case with black-to-gold graduated ground, decorated in gold maki-e with a praying mantis among grasses and a small boat; attached to a carved wood netsuke in the form of a lotus pod via purple braided silk cord with amber ojime bead.
