Ottomar Starke
Kriegszeit, no. 42 (2 June 1915)1915

Not on view
Lithograph cover of 'Kriegszeit Künstlerflugblätter,' No. 42, June 1915, showing a kneeling man with one arm raised, rendered in loose, gestural black ink strokes
Lithograph with loose, energetic linework depicting a group of helmeted soldiers moving through a dense forest, figures clustered in the foreground amid fallen branches and equipment, tall tree trunks rising into a tangled canopy above.
Black and white lithograph of a mountainous landscape with bold, expressive brushwork. In the foreground, a figure lies on rocky ground clutching thin poles or stakes. Bare trees and deep shadows occupy the middle ground, with jagged mountain peaks and a pale circle suggesting a sun or moon in the upper left. A utility pole with lines extends at right. Handwritten signatures appear at lower left and right.
Print combining illustration and text: loose ink drawing of a mounted rider on horseback, viewed from behind, facing a group of standing figures; blocks of German text in Gothic typeface below, titled "Ulanen."
