Square patchwork textile with a cream silk-embroidered center panel showing a flower basket and vining botanicals, surrounded by a border of cobalt blue wave-patterned fabric and corner blocks with golden floral sprays
Embroidered textile on cream ground with a central woven basket overflowing with pink and gold flowers, surrounded by scattered blossoms and foliage in rose, gold, and brown silk threads. Embroidered initials "M. M." and the date "June 27, 1844" appear in the lower center.
Quilted textile corner detail combining embroidered and printed fabric panels; cream ground panel features raised wool crewelwork vines with gold-brown leaves and pink and red flowers, adjoining blue and white printed cotton with ribbon lattice and scattered pink rose sprays, with visible running-stitch quilting throughout.
