Curatorial Notes
This bronze lampstand was cast as three main component parts: a base, a shaft composed of multiple elements and a tray, the latter of which was designed to hold a separate oil lamp. The three primary sections are fitted together by flanges and sockets that lock in place when turned, allowing for the lampstand to be easily assembled for use or disassembled for transport and storage.
