- Persia Fragment of a Dress or Furnishing Fabric. 18th century. Brocaded satin weave. Silk, gilt on a yellow silk core, silver on a white silk core. Silver cones alternately face rows against a brown ground on which gilt vines bearing naturally drawn blossoms meander vertically. Cones contain plants with blossoms of orange, lavender-pink, and silver with green center highlights. Leaves are green and yellow with green outlines.
