Painter and illustrator Ali Akbar Sadeghi, an artist of long-standing stature in Iran, is perhaps best known for his animations from the 1970s. The film Boasting, for which this animation cell was produced, reflects the chaotic state of Iran in the early 1970s. Here, the competing political factions of the day, in the guise of medieval warriors, come together in the end for a common cause. Sadeghi appears to have prophesied the times leading up to the 1979 Iranian Revolution, when various political parties united briefly to help depose the shah.
