Brisé Fan1730-1740

Painted folding fan displayed fully open, with ivory sticks and a leaf decorated with three gilt-bordered cartouches containing 18th-century figural scenes in a landscape, green floral border along the top arc, and dense floral painting near the base
Folding paper fan fully spread, with ivory sticks and a green and gold border. Central oval medallion depicts two figures in 18th-century dress in a landscape; smaller oval vignettes on either side show seated figures. Lower section features a painted scene with multiple figures in colorful costumes. Decorative gold scrollwork and red accents throughout.
Folded paper fan with ivory sticks, fully open; leaf painted with a central landscape scene in green and blue tones, flanked by oval cartouches with brown borders, green decorated upper edge with white floral details, and colorful floral and scroll motifs near the guards.
