Curatorial Notes

This greenstone pendant has been carved in the form of a standing male figure. Its irregular shape suggests that the artist made the carving on a river pebble, adapting the iconography to the natural shape of the raw material. A vertical hole has been drilled through the object to support its use as a pendant or perhaps a bead.
