This cabinet is decorated with a Chinese-style aesthetic. Along the top are three drawers with replacement pull straps. The center drawer has two painted bowls of fruit. The flanking drawers have flowering branches of peonies. Beneath the drawers are two horizontal rows of four rectangular figural panels. The top row of panels from left to right has two phoenixes beside a tree with a lake fed by waterfalls; two panels of confronting four-clawed writhing dragons; and a panel of a male and female deer beside a tree with partridges and a hillock with peonies. The lower row of panels has two confronting, prancing snow lions in the center flanked by peonies in a vase on a stand. All three rows are bordered by lotus scrolls. The topboard is painted red. The sides are unadorned. The bottom board is a plain replacement. See also M.2010.78.17.
