Tubular gold bracelets with a twisted, sliding clasp were popular in Egypt during the Ptolemaic through Roman periods, evidenced by the number of existing examples and tomb scenes showing the overlapped part of the bracelet worn on the exterior of the wrist. The construction consisted of a hollow tube of gold with ends beaten into a long wire wrapped around the opposite terminal, allowing the bracelet to be adjusted to the wearer.
