Cut-velvet: 23 5/8" x 45 3/4" Eastern Mediterranean (Scutari), late 17th or early 18th century. Deep cream ground, patterned in cut pile now faded to soft green and light terra cotta, but originally a deeper green and rose. The field covered with large flower branches, matched either way from a latticed oval at the center.
