Japanese woodblock print depicting a busy theater district scene. A large building facade displays promotional banners with Japanese text and multicolored illustrated panels. Below, a crowd of figures in Edo-period dress fills the foreground, rendered in teal, blue, and gray tones with flat areas of color typical of ukiyo-e printmaking. A large hanging curtain with Japanese calligraphy is visible above the entrance.

Numerous figures in Edo-period dress fill the foreground; a pink dusk sky and vertical columns of Japanese calligraphy appear at upper right.
