Following his move to Los Angeles in 1929, Alfredo Ramos Martínez developed a wide Hollywood following that included director Alfred Hitchcock and costume designer Edith Head. His paintings and frescoes depict stylized indigenous figures, a subject that was in keeping with the popularity of all things Mexican in the United States at the time.
