Miriam Likelike photograph from the book "From Sword to Share: or A Fortune in Five Years in Hawai'i" by Henry Whalley Nicholson (1881) page 78. Miriam Likelike Kekāuluohi Keahelapalapa Kapili (January 13, 1851 – February 2, 1887) was a Princess of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi, sister of the last two ruling monarchs, mother of Princess Kaʻiulani, last heir to the throne, and mistress of the ʻĀinahau estate. She shared the same name with Likelike, an earlier Hawaiian chiefess. On January 16, 1893 the Hawaiian Kingdom was invaded by United States marines which led to the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian government the following day.
