About this artist

Graduated from Aichi College of Education in1964. In 1977, he won an award for excellence at the first Japan Modern Print Grand Prize exhibition, and the following year won the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, prize as the Japan International Art Exhibition. In 1983, he was selected for a culture award by Aichi Prefecture. Morioka was again awarded for excellence at the 1986 fifth Seoul Biennial Print Exhibition, and was awarded an Honorable Mention the following year at the second Wakayama print biennial. In 1988 he received a number of awards, including the National Museum of Art award. In 1991, he received a solo exhibition at the National Museum of Thailand in Bangkok.
