About this artist

Studied with Goshun and Matsumura Keibun in Shijo style. He is regarded as Keibun's top apprentice and one of the four painting masters of Kyoto at the end of the Edo period. He was listed in Heian jimbutsu shi from 1830 to 1852. In 1850 he had been awarded a prize of 970 ryo for being an imperial artist 帝京画家給銀位定.
