Born in Hachioji, Tokyo. Graduated from Waseda University in 1957 and began working immediately as a print artist. His first solo exhibition was at Yoseido i 1959. His first showing with the Nihon hanga kyokai was 1959, and he became a member of that group in 1961. Kidokoro participated in the Tokyo International Print Biennial i 1964 followed by several years of participating in international biennials, notably in Switzerland, Paris, and Sao Paulo. He established the carver's association (nomi no kai 鑿の会 in 1967, and created a portfolio of engravings titled, "Nomi". in 1967 also, he received the Ministry of Education grant for artistic research overseas, going to Paris and Geneva. From 1968 to 1977, Kidokoro taught at Musashino Art University in Tokyo, additionally teaching at the Musashino Art Academy from 1972 to 1988, and also at Kanazawa Municipal College of Arts from 1978 to 1988. He died of a sudden heart attack in July of 1988.
