About this artist

He was trained as an ear, nose, and throat doctor and moved to Shizuoka in 1926 to start his practice. In 1930 he began working on the coterie journals Yūkari and Kaketa Tsubo, then created numerous prints for Hangaza between 1932 and 1934. For some of these, he would return to Ibaraki to find subject matter. In 1934 he moved to Tokyo, Edogawa district, and set up his own hospital. On the side, he studied nihonga painting with Nakamura Gaku. Anecdotal evidence says that he showed at Nitten, but there are no clear records that he did.
