About this artist

Born Saitama Prefecture. Attended Tokyo School of Art until the end of 1925, then worked at the Imperial Museum until 1936, there beginning his research of woodblock printing. At the 9th Teiten in 1928, he displayed a woodblock print called "Rebirth, then in 1929 at the 9th Nihon Sōsaku hanga kyōkai ten, he exhibited "River Mouth, another woodblock print. From the time that he quit working at the Imperial Museum, he turned to printmaking full time. He died in 1969.
