Born in Shinjuku 1924. Graduated 1956 from Musashino Art College specializing in Western style painting. He participated in the third Independent Art Association exhibition. From 1963 to 1968 he taught at Musashino Art College and also assisted Munakata Shikō. Between 1967 and 1987 he had numerous solo exhibitions and participated in various association exhibitions around Tokyo. In 1978, Shinano Mainichi Shinbun published his "Issa no shiki" and in 1996 held an exhibition on that topic in Shinano, Nagano at the Issa Memorial Hall. In 1998, he created a work, "Opening Flower" for the anniversary of the construction of the Meiji Pharmacy School. A catalogue raisonne of his work was published in 1999 by Yuhikaku publishers.
