Ghassemlou has shown her photographs extensively in Iran but was largely unknown outside the country until very recently....
Ghassemlou has shown her photographs extensively in Iran but was largely unknown outside the country until very recently. Her superb sense of composition is also evident in photographs from the series "Cars" shot at a junk yard near Tehran. This series conveys in a very original manner the sense of loss and isolation that inhabits much of contemporary Iranian art.
