Robert Irwin has devoted most of his work to exploring perception. His paintings, sculptures, indoor and outdoor installations often heighten the way we perceive things. At LACMA, Irwin created an evolving installation comprising a collection of palms.

Irwin worked with landscape architect Paul Comstock to address environmental considerations and ensure the health and longevity of the plants.
