In just 50 years, LACMA has established itself as a world-class museum with one of the strongest encyclopedic collections in the world. The more than 120,000 objects that make up LACMA's holdings are due to the generosity of donors. For the museum's 50th anniversary, that spirit of generosity continues with the recent, historic bequest of A. Jerrold Perenchio, and many others.

The exhibition 50 for 50: Gifts on the Occasion of LACMA's Anniversary is the first presentation of a selection of highlights. Spanning centuries and cultures, the exhibition features gifts from more than 25 generous donors. Masterpieces on view include works by Claude Monet, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, and Andy Warhol as well as art from Africa and decorative arts.
