Following in the footsteps of his father, Danny Ho Fong, Miller Fong used wrought-iron frames to shape rattan into light, modern furniture. He was still in his twenties when he designed the Lotus chair, which was displayed in California Design 10. The pleasing curves of the chair, which the Los Angeles Times called “a seductive well of comfort,” earned it a prominent place in the publicity for the exhibition.
