An early example of the work of San Diego jeweler Arline Fisch, this necklace transforms an Art Nouveau–inspired peacock tail motif into a distinctly modern, abstract design. In the 1950s Fisch traveled to Europe, where she studied several historical jewelry collections and learned fabrication techniques. The necklace demonstrates how she modified historic forms to suit contemporary taste.
